Network Route Test

Java is required to view this applet
The network route test provides valuable insight to the path of a connection and helps uncover devices and networks causing slow response (latency) and/or loss of data packets. This is of particular value when troubleshooting remote connection problems traversing the public Internet. The map view provides a geographical route of the connection, which helps determine if the latency values correspond to the relative distances between hops. For instance, a transatlantic hop will naturally have a higher latency value than would a hop between two nearby cities. In addition, the network provider for each hop is reported for further investigation.
